Functional Pilates Class

Functional Pilates Class incorporates seated and standing low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment, flexibility and balance with cardio intervals, Functional movement patterns in everyday use include the squat, lunge, push, pull, hinge, twist, and walking. Research indicates the combination of aerobic and strength exercises may increase muscle strength in those with neuromuscular and multi-system disorders (Roussel et al, 2019).
Instructor: Lorna Jarrett
Lorna is a Certified Pilates Instructor and graduate of Polestar Pilates rehabilitation education. As a Specialist in Pilates Based exercise for Neurological Disorders she emphasizes the mind and body connection in movement. She is also a certified mindset coach through the Coaching and Positive Psychology Institute and Coaches Rising: Neuroscience of Change and works with individuals, groups and organizations. She combines her background in dance, physical therapy and pilates to help those who are impacted by chronic disorders, along with others, to live out their best lives.
